Personality determines job competence

An authoritative American magazine
《Psychology Today》
Fully unlocking employees’ potential is key to a company’s growth. The authoritative American magazine Psychology Today published an article about psychologists who used cognitive psychology (the science of the brain and intelligence) to enhance employees’ work abilities. The results showed that employees’ abilities are not achieved solely through intellectual or cognitive development.
Companies expect employees to be proactive, able to handle work pressure, and communicate satisfactorily and appropriately with colleagues and clients. Psychologists have found that cognitive skills are not the key factor affecting employees’ abilities—they are their personalities.
Nowadays, most American companies first assess the candidate’s personality rather than their education during interviews, aiming to arrange jobs where they can best utilize their strengths and provide maximum satisfaction.
For example: they believe the best managers are those with a kind personality and emotional stability;
When recruiting sales consultants, they don’t choose those who appear charming and charismatic, but instead hire those who appear tough and strict, because people with such personalities don’t feel troubled or affected by client resistance.
Mastering personality studies is a major management trend

Master personality studies
Ask about the major management trend
Mastering personality cultivation is a major management trend for modern managers. They not only need to motivate and help subordinates realize their potential, but also teach them to achieve self-improvement through work. This achieves a win-win management situation, with subordinates deeply loving and supporting their managers, making it easier for the company to retain employees’ hearts. “
To keep pace with this trend, Stanford Business School launched the course “Personality, Self-Awareness, and Leadership” as early as 1993, applying the Enneagram to business management.
The Enneagram is now a “strategic partner” for management talent in major European and American companies. Managers of Fortune 500 companies use Enneagram for self-improvement, decision-making management, employee training (in interpersonal relationships and personal growth), and efficient team building.
You need to understand your personality, and you must understand: “Catch yourself.”
To understand personality, you must understand four words: grasp yourself. How do you capture yourself? I mean you need to grasp your emotions. Let me explain to you first: psychology shows that a person has at least 50,000 thoughts a day. What does it mean? Now you’re thinking about something, think about it, and that’s one. Actually, having 50,000 thoughts isn’t difficult at all, but you don’t have 50,000 thoughts; you have 50,000 feelings. Your personality is made up of all these thoughts you think.
How to accurately determine the Enneagram number?

The Enneagram is the study of ‘personality.’
“Sex” represents invisible emotions, while “character” refers to the framework of what is seen. We capture your emotions from your behavioral framework, helping you understand what drives you to realize your potential; and which emotions influence your abilities, allowing your life to be fully realized.
Because nine different numbers have nine different core emotions, we must never use cramming methods to find ourselves; instead, we should use psychology to find our own emotions from within. Only then can we find the true numbers, determine our true character, truly leverage our strengths, and expand the stage of our lives.
What does the character ‘Ge’ represent?
Sex is hidden emotions, your subconscious; Character is the expression you see outside, your behavior. In this way, you will understand that when you look at people, you look at their character at a glance, and you still need to further examine their sexuality. So, the key is your emotions. You come to learn a kind of emotional education, or rather, a kind of emotional re-education. You learn to understand yourself anew, and the way you know yourself is to master your emotions. This is called grasping yourself.
